Asif Mamun – Executive Chef, Delaware North, Melbourne & Olympic Parks
Asif Mamun has over 14 years’ experience working as a culinary professional and is the Executive Chef at Melbourne & Olympic Parks, home of the Australian Open, Grand Slam of Asia Pacific and an annual calendar of entertainment and corporate events.
Creating partnerships with local suppliers and sourcing seasonal produce drives Asif’s passion and commitment to creating innovative dishes that push the boundaries and always allowing the produce to shine.
He focuses equal attention on enhancing the guests experience from the food prepared for our retail outlets through to the multitude of corporate and fine dining venues across the Melbourne Park precinct.
Throughout his culinary career, Asif has had the opportunity to work an array of events from the Logies Awards, AFL Brownlow Medal and The Million Dollar Lunch. Working with Chefs from around the world, Asif has also been involved in the opening in Melbourne of one of the world’s most recognized Japanese restaurants Nobu.
In 2016 Asif headed the kitchen for his fifth Australian Open Grand Slam event. During the 2016 Grand Slam he oversaw a culinary team of 300 staff and created over 65,000 covers.
For Asif, teamwork is a huge part of the success of his working environment and he looks upon his team at Delaware North as an extended family, encouraging them to be the best they can be as he is in constant competition with himself as he strives to design new dishes that impress, while catering to our large international and local guests.
